Over the weekend I hammered out my final sketches for my layout for an article on the New Museum of Contemporary Art. The opening spread allowed text to interact with & play off of the contour of the building. In the second spread, I attempted to again play with the off-kilter aspect of the building, but instead with the text in a vertical fashion.
Additionally, I added the detail in the upper left hand corner 1) to carry over the great neon purple from the museum's signage & 2) to add a dash of coherence to the table to contents that is yet to be created.
In the critique today I was given ideas & advice to better integrate the building's contour and scattered tendencies, as well as eliminate rigid picture & text boxes.
